Remote Connector Mode Remote Connector Mode is enabled from the Configuration menu.
CMail can be used as a POP3 collection gateway for SMTP
only mail servers such as Exchange or Lotus Notes. In Remote Connector Mode, CMail Server
will collect mail from the Internet via POP3 and forward any mail directly to the SMTP
only server.
Note: Enabling Remote Connector Mode
disables CMail Server's POP3 client and SMTP services. Inadvertently enabling this feature
will result in clients failing to collect mail.
To Enable CMail as a POP3
connector:
- Select Enable Connector Mode from
the Configuration > Remote Connector Mode menu.

- Enter the Host Configuration menu
(Configuration > Host Configuration).
- Highlight a domain in the host/domains
list and click Advanced.

- Enter the IP address of the other mail server in the To
the following Host or User field. (You will need to repeat this step for all of
the domains listed in the host/domains list.)
- Press OK to complete the setup.
To Disable CMail as a Remote
Connector:
- Select Disable Connector Mode from
the Configuration > Remote Connector Mode menu.

- Enter the Host Configuration menu
(Configuration > Host Configuration).
- Remove the contents of the To the following
Host or User field. (You will need to repeat this step for all of the domains
listed in the host/domains list.)
- Press OK to complete the modifications.
